SWAN, the Singapore-Western Australia Network, offers new ways of linking Singaporeans with all Australians. It is a showcase for the Singapore community’s contribution to Western Australian life.

 

The SWAN  community is not restricted to Singaporeans; we welcome people born in Australia and anyone from any culture or background who is interested in learning about Singapore.

 

SWAN aims to show the Singapore community offers more than just trade and commerce; we have achievements in the arts, culinary skills, intellectual and sporting excellence. Our activities promotes the full multicultural tapestry of Singapore, a complex and vibrant society.

SWAN Movie Night, 24 July 2009
SWAN is organising a Movie Night on 24 July to screen Jack Neo's hit movie "Just follow Law" at Murdoch Hall, University of Western Australia (UWA) at 4pm  
Singapore Community Day, Canberra 26-27th Sept 2009
the Singapore High Commission would be organizing Singapore Community Day in Canberra this year from 26-27 Sept. Timed to coincide with the Australian school holidays and the annual Floriade Festival. The Singapore High Commission invites all members of the Singaporean community to participate in this event.   read more...
SWAN's Inaugural Writing Singapore Short Fiction Competition
The Singapore WA Network is interested in fostering strong creative engagements between Singapore and Western Australia. To this end, we are proud to announce the inaugural Writing Singapore Short Fiction Competition. The competition seeks high quality writing entries that feature a connection with Singapore. This may include one or more of the following: has a Singaporean setting; has Singaporean characters; shows an understanding or awareness of Singaporeans and their culture, history or identity; or otherwise has some connection with Singapore or Singaporean characters. Entries are invited from high school students across Western Australia. The winning entry and runner-up entry will have their entries published on the Singapore WA Network website www.swan.org.au and will receive generous prizes. Please note that SWAN's mailing address is now: Singapore Western Australia Network (SWAN) PO Box 7432, Cloisters Square, Perth WA 6850 with immediate effect. In due course we will change the addresses on all the Forms on the website.
